AUGUSTA, Ga.---The Richmond County coroner's office is awaiting additional dental records as they work to identify the woman who was killed in a fiery car crash yesterday morning in Hephzibah.

Coroner Grover Tuten says a positive identification has been impossible so far due to incomplete dental records.

The accident happened along Story Mill Road. A burned-out wreck is all that's left of the 2000 Honda Civic the woman was driving.

Investigators say the driver was going north on Story Mill Road when she lost control, hit an embankment, and was thrown from the car. We're told she was pinned under the car when authorities got to the scene.

seems to me the police would be establishing a time line. People need to call law enforcement who had been in contact with Sheila that day prior to "the accident?"

This is very sad. Family and friends lost a loved one and I will be praying for them all.

The witness at the scence reported a green truck or subruban type vehicle that approached the scene and then sped away nearly running down the people trying to help. I am saying this sounds alot like the vehicle that has attempted to run me off this same road several times over the past few week. It is a dark road with no street lights which makes it difficult to positively identify the vehicle. The way that person left the scene raises the ??'s What really happened?? The last comment is right that is a very straight part of the road and she would have been slowing to make her turn. I hope and pray that nothing like that happened. I would feel terrible if that did happen because I have been unable to get a tag number for the vehicle that has attempted to run me off the road.

Why did it start out with a green truck and an SUV?

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Hephzibah on Jul 24, 2008 at 12:25 PM
I know that people should be sensitive to the fact that something bad happeneed. the person making the comment about the SUV was not trying to be insensitive, but trying to call attention to a problem. As a Single female resident of this area that drives on the same road late at night alone frequently I can tell you there is something wrong. It has nothing to do with the victim of the crash. I have several times been targeted by a dark colored SUV on this road tailgating me and attempting to run me off the road. The comments from this other person are not targeted at the victim being in the wrong they are meant to make people aware that something is going on out here. The Suv is very suspicious and the police need to take a look or patrol this area more frequently. I know making reports to the police are ineffective if we are unable to get a tag number for this vehicle. I understand how the family feels because a few night before this accident it could have been me involved.

The person(s) within the truck should contact police whether or not they did anything wrong. But it does very suspicious

Please be sensitive to the fact that loved ones of the victim may be reading these posts. We are all in pain right now after the loss of this beautiful and vibrant woman. Last time I checked, we as American citizens had the right to drive down the road anytime we felt like it.

Sounds like the truck was up to no good

Maybe the woman was going to work. Many are on the road that time of night going to work. Good that you called 911 to try and help her. God bless her and her family and friends and give them comfort during this horrible time.
