LOCUST GROVE, Ga.---An animal rescue center is now looking for donations to help with the cost of care for a baby zebra found injured on Interstate 75 south of Atlanta.

The rescuers think the baby zebra is two to three months old. It fell from a truck and was hit by another vehicle. Motorists reported seeing the animal eating grass along the road, and that's when rescuers were called.

The zebra is now at Noah's Ark Animal Rehabilitation Center in Locust Grove, Georgia. The center phone number is 770 957-0888.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I can just hear it. "It was a baby zebra, mom, really! It was eating grass on the side of the road." And dad pipes up, "What you been smokin' son?"
