The Marriage of Figaro featuring Mark Diamond

Enjoy an evening of timeless music from Mozart as the American Opera and Musical Theatre at Augusta University presents The Marriage of Figaro. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12 and 13, with the final show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, in the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.

Mark Diamond (Former GHS alum) returns to Augusta where he will perform the role of Count Almaviva in the AU production of Mozart’s opera, The Marriage of Figaro. Mark has achieved a fair amount of recognition in the world of opera. He is the 1st Prize Winner of the 2010 Eleanor McCollum Competition at Houston Grand Opera, and the 2011 Sun Valley Opera Competition in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Diamond was twice a Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and was awarded 2nd Prize in the Charles A. Lynam Competition in North Carolina. Mark has performed with the Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, Glimmer Glass Festival as well as a number of other noteworthy companies and orchestras.
Mark Diamond is a Guest Artist in Residence and is sponsored by the Augusta University Lyceum Series. David Holkeboer, is the Guest Collaborative Pianist, he is sponsored by the American Opera and Musical Theater Institute at Augusta University.
