Orleans Six Band
The Etherredge Center for Fine and Performing Arts / 471 University Parkway / Aiken, SC 29801
The Orleans Six is regarded by fans and musicians alike as one of the hardest swinging bands in New Orleans, accompanied by two of the best traditional jazz and swing dancers from New Orleans. Ben Polcer (trumpet/vocals) and Bruce Brackman (clarinet) had been playing across the street from each other in traditional jazz bands in New Orleans for years. Wanting to collaborate for some time, they found a night of the week where they could finally play music together. Their mission was simple, to round up the best traditional jazz players in New Orleans and play jazz the way it was meant to be played, with tons of fire and to get people dancing.
