Habitat for Humanity's Women Build: Women Helping Women
Guest Speakers:
Samantha Peel, Women Build Committee Chair
Dennis J. Hoyt, Executive Director Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity
In March 2013 Augusta/CSRA Habitat picked up hammers and power tools and began building the first Habitat for Humanity house constructed primarily by women.
Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program provides an opportunity for women to learn useful, lifelong skills in a supportive environment while meeting new friends and helping deserving families. The Augusta/CSRA Women Build theme is "Women Helping Women No One Does It Alone". While Habitat houses are designed to help any qualified family, more than 60% of Habitats houses are built for women heads of households.
Come find out more about this wonderful program and the various ways that individuals and companies can get involved.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL ATTENDEES by 5:00 pm Friday April 12th. Those who do not pre-register will be placed on a reserve seating list. Unmet registrations will be billed.

Empty Bowl 2013
Mar 10, 2013 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Augusta Jewish Community Center - 898 Weinberger Way • Evans, Georgia • 308
The 12th Annual Empty Bowl is a joint fundraiser for both the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Augusta Jewish Community Center!
The original EMPTY BOWL event served lunch guests a simple meal of soup and bread in a beautifully hand-crafted ceramic bowl made by local students and artists. The guests would then keep the bowl as a reminder of hunger in the world... humble beginnings have grown to a community event helping many each year. This year we celebrate 12 years.
