Though the Avett Brothers are no strangers to Augusta, this will be their first Banjo-B-Que appearance and their first date in the market since March of 2011. Since then the band has seen tremendous growth, selling out arenas and doubling up on dates in a number of cities. In a December 2013 Rolling Stone article, Rick Rubin, who has produced each of their last three albums said, “The Avetts have a completely unique and original form of roots music.” We’re excited to have that music in Augusta.

In addition to The Avett Brothers & OCMS this first round of artist announcements for our 5th Annual Music Festival also includes The Whiskey Gentry, Rosco Bandana, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, and The Blue Dogs. The final artist line up will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition to the exciting artists you can see on stage, we are proud to once again feature a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event where pit cookers from across the country will compete for $40,000 in prize money.
