Wet Paint Party & Sale
Sacred Heart Cultural Center
The Greater Augusta Arts Council’s WET PAINT PARTY AND SALE is Augusta’s most colorful art party. Local artists sell their original art in a beautifully staged party that serves as the Arts Council’s annual membership event.
With this event, the Arts Council seeks not only to help promote artists, but to actually put money in their pockets. Since 2013, over $10,000 went straight into artists’ pockets through the silent art auction. The unique feature of this auction is that each artist will receive his/her entire asking price for the sale of their work, with any additional money garnered going to the Arts Council as a donation.
Additionally, collaborative art is painted LIVE ON-SITE at the event by local artists. At the end of the evening, the pieces are raffled off to two lucky winners. In addition to visual art, there is an over the top, runway-style vintage fashion show, traditionally presented by Vintage Ooollee.
There is no cover charge for the WET PAINT PARTY AND SALE. The event is free for members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council, and non-members may join at the door. Affordable memberships are available starting at only $30.
Empty Bowl 2013
Mar 10, 2013 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Augusta Jewish Community Center - 898 Weinberger Way • Evans, Georgia • 308
The 12th Annual Empty Bowl is a joint fundraiser for both the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Augusta Jewish Community Center!
The original EMPTY BOWL event served lunch guests a simple meal of soup and bread in a beautifully hand-crafted ceramic bowl made by local students and artists. The guests would then keep the bowl as a reminder of hunger in the world... humble beginnings have grown to a community event helping many each year. This year we celebrate 12 years.
