2nd Annual Corned Beef Comes to Augusta Fundraiser
Friday, February 28th
Adas Yeshurun Synagogue / 935 Johns Road
Do you crave a New York-style corned beef sandwich on fresh rye bread? On Sunday, March 16th and Monday, March 17th, Adas Yeshurun Synagogue will be slicing over 400 pounds of kosher corned beef. This year’s goal is to sell over 1000 lunches.
The lunches consist of an overstuffed corned beef sandwich on rye bread with pickle spear, condiments, chips, a drink and freshly-baked brownie at a cost of just $10.
“Last year was our first year,” said Tina Weinstein, food and preparation supervisor. “We planned on selling no more than 500 lunches, but wound up selling over 600. The response was so favorable in the community that we expect to sell at least twice that many this year. People were overwhelmed at the size and taste of the sandwich.”
A portion of proceeds from sales will benefit area charities.
Lunches may be picked up at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Road on Sunday or Monday. Lunches can be delivered to offices, schools, clubs, and clinics on Monday, March 17th. There is no delivery charge for orders of 10 or more lunches to the same location.
Orders must be placed by Friday, February 28th. To place orders, call 706.736.8788 or go to www.cornedbeefatays.com.
