Salvation Army of Aiken Kettle Cook Off

The Salvation Army is known by many for the familiar red kettles and bell ringers at storefronts throughout the holiday season. Nationally, the organization kicks off its annual fundraising campaign during the halftime of the Dallas Cowboys’ nationally televised Thanksgiving Day game. Locally, The Salvation Army of Aiken begins its campaign with the Kettle Cook Off. The event is a cooking competition with participating community and business leaders.Admission is $5.00 per person.
All the funds from the event, along with the other donations received during the holidays, support The Salvation Army of Aiken’s year round programs. The organization operates the only homeless shelter in town as well as social services programs crucial for the less fortunate in the area. Additionally, The Salvation Army provides new toys and clothing to over 1,100 children for Christmas and food to over 500 families.
