Wesley Center of Grace United Methodist Church / 639 Georgia Ave. / North Augusta, SC
The 10th Annual Veterans Concert features the Savannah River Winds under the direction of Richard D. Brasco, and honors our military Veterans both past and present. Richard Rogers of WRDW Channel 12 will emcee the program. The Veterans Concert is presented by the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council, with sponsorship by the SRP Federal Credit Union, the City of North Augusta, and a local retired military famiy.
The Arts Council offers the opportunity for the public to honor family and friends who have served or are serving in any branch of the United States Military by having their names printed in the evening’s program and announced during the performance. A $10 donation is required to honor a veteran, and the form to submit the person’s name can be found on the Arts Council’s website at www.naartscouncil.org, or by contacting a member of the Arts Council. All funds raised through this program and through donations the evening of the concert will be donated to the Augusta Warrior Project and the Music Therapy Program at the Augusta VA Hospital. The deadline for submitting names is Nov. 1, 2013. For additional information please go to the website listed above.
The evening’s program of patriotic music will include Purple Heart, Armed Forces Salute, Stars and Stripes Forever, Victory at Sea, and others. Amazing Grace will feature a bagpipe accompanied by the wind ensemble. There will be a veteran in uniform representing each branch of the service, and the North Augusta High School ROTC will participate.
The concert is open to the public and presented free of charge, but donations are welcome.
