“Mother Hicks” is set in the town of Ware, Illinois during the Great Depression. Living on the outskirts of society, we meet three people: an orphaned girl named “Girl,” a young deaf woman, Tuc, and an old mysterious woman, Mother Hicks. Girl, following clues and whisperings of her heart after being passed from home to home, finally meets the enigmatic Mother Hicks. The townspeople are afraid for Girl because it is whispered that Mother Hicks is a witch. Written by Suzan Zeder and directed by Betty Walpert, Mother Hicks tells a poignant story through sign language and poetry.

"WKLY’s Jukebox Saturday Night” offers a visit back to the good old days when Americans listened to their favorite singers perform on live radio broadcasts in the 1930’s.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and military, $8 for children and students, and $6 for Davidson students and faculty. Tickets are available for sale in the DFA Media Center during school hours or Online via the DFA website.
