Canal Trail Talks
Explore the historic and natural surroundings of the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area on Trail Talks conducted by subject-matter specialists. The twice-monthly walks on Sundays at 3 p.m. start from various Canal locations and last about an hour. Walks are free, but donations are accepted. Topic: The amazing history of our city lake.
Speaker: Robert Mullins. Mr. Mullins is a local attorney and author of a book on Lake Olmstead history “12 Monkeys and a Green Jacket.”
Description: Learn about the varied and interesting events that took place at the lake.

Speaker: Steven Rauch, Military Historian at US Army Signal Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon GA, adjunct Instructor at Georgia Regents University
Description: Walk through an important Revolutionary War site, scene of the first siege of Augusta.
