Cops Gave Too Much Detail
It seems to me that providing every detail, i.e., the cameras, the covert operations, the tricks of the trade will substantially decrease our ability to succeed in the future.

Today's Viewer Voice comes in response to Operation Augusta Ink and the in-depth information that was shared with the media about the undercover operation. Betty writes:

I appreciate the fact that our community needs to be informed about the goings on in making our community safer and that we need to be informed regarding the raids on the gang members and their activities. I just don’t see how providing such significant and detailed information outlining the strategies and operations of the task force is going to make our community safer. It seems to me that providing every detail, i.e., the cameras, the covert operations, the tricks of the trade will substantially decrease our ability to succeed in the future. Rather, it would seem that providing these strategies in such detail would give the advantage to them. With so many details being provided, these people will not be intimidated. They will be empowered and learn to be much more clever in their activities, becoming more of a threat. The local media is bragging on how the agents gained their trust and tricked them. This does not seem like the time to brag. I am not saying that the authorities don’t deserve a tremendous thank you for their hard work, but this type of rhetoric will not reduce the crime rate. It will create a place where egos and control will take on a life of its own.
