Today's Viewer Voice topic comes from Andrew of Augusta.

I was born and raise here in Augusta, Ga. I love Augusta and it's people. By virtue of my job I am able to come in contact with people from the hill section to the lower end to include the southside. I have traveled to big cities, been out of the country but nothing seem to compare to being at home in the garden city. Note, I did not say Augusta is a perfect place to live in. We have the same problems as any city our size. When I travel our streets during the course of day I see first hand for myself the jewel, diamond in the rough known as the garden city. You see Augusta to me is that school bus driver, that city employee at the municipal building, that fellow shopper at the Kroger's, Bilo's, Foodlion etc. Augusta to me is that elderly neighbor walking down the street who always speaks and waves. Augusta to me is that beautiful Savannah River that eases by. Trust me alot cities would love to have it. Forgive me for being long but there no short way of saying it. We have alot of good God fearing people who truly care about each other and this city, however, we don't have a voice. Its drowned out by crime stories which are used to hold the attention of the viewers and readers. Or that elected official that forgot that it not about him or her but the people and our city. I've said enough, this will most likely not make the airways. Just remember my fellow Augustans, we truly do have a beautiful city.

I moved to the Augusta area from California. I love this area. There is so much to do. Just pick up the Applause section or the Metro Spirit and see what there is to do around town. Much of it is free. For example, Candelight Jazz on Sundays, 1st Fridays and Colonial Times over in N. Augusta. Trying to find something to do is not the issue. Choosing which one is. Biking or walking along the canal or Greenway is beautiful. We have plays, musical events and museums. I could go on and on. Blossom where you are planted or transplanted in my case.

I was born and raised in Augusta in the 1950's and 60's and for sure Augusta has it's problems but there is no other place on the face of the earth I would have wanted to be born. You could never understand unless you came along in th time I did and the best thing about it there is a lot of other people my age will tell you the same thing. Augusta, Georgia Forver!

Augusta is a bible slinging antiquity, filled with the most putrid kind of people;.... the hypocrites!
