Michael White joined News 12 in September of 2007.

Michael is a native of Dothan, AL. Many know that as “the peanut capital of the world.” During high school, Michael got his start in broadcasting with his very own nighttime radio show that aired on the local Top 40 station. His DJ name was “Big Time Mike”. After graduating high school, he pursued a degree in communications at the University of Alabama. Upon graduation he went on to pursue a meteorology degree from Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society.

During his final year at Alabama, he began interning at WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa in the weather department. When he got accepted into MSU, WVUA had an opening for a weekend weather anchor. So, while attending school 5 days a week he commuted to T-town during the weekends to do the newscasts. Michael was with WVUA during his 3-year stay in Starkville.

Michael has had some exciting moments in his life: He starred in TV commercials when he was only 8 years old, performed in fashion shows and pursued local theater. His most climactic moment occurred in 2002 when he met his idol, Bob Barker, at a taping of “The Price is Right”. That and “Wheel of Fortune” are his favorite shows of all time.

Michael is very excited about working with News 12 and living in the Augusta area. Some of his hobbies are snow skiing, reading, and arm wrestling morning meteorologist Tim Strong.
