Gene Petriello joined News 12 as the Aiken County Beat Reporter in July 2007.

Previously, Gene worked as a news reporter and weekend sports anchor in Presque Isle, Maine. He's excited to be trading in his winter boots for winter sandals!

Gene also has worked as a news/sports intern in Hartford, Connecticut and a news intern in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

He's a proud 2006 Nittany Lion graduate with distinction from Penn State University, majoring in broadcast news and journalism. There, he reported on the famed Penn State Football Tailgating experience. On fall weekends, you'll find Gene rooting on his Nittany Lions to the national championship.

News 12 Internships
News 12 interns must be seeking a degree in communications or broadcast journalism and have the recommendation of their advisor. All internships are non-paid, so students must show proof they'll receive college credit for their work. Applicants must pass a drug screening.
