Blayne Alexander was a multimedia journalist at News 12 from November of 2009 through February of 2011. She came to Augusta from Washington, DC, where she worked as a production assistant for NBC News.
During her time in Washington, Blayne helped cover the White House and Capitol Hill for the network and interviewed several lawmakers, including Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Lindsay Graham and Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm in the days immediately following the auto bailout. Blayne was also front and center for one of the most exciting presidential elections in recent history, and helped coordinate coverage of President Obama's inauguration from the US Capitol for the five major broadcasting networks.
A proud product of the southwest, Blayne hails from Edmond, Oklahoma and graduated from Duke University in 2008 with a degree in English. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, National Press Club and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Blayne is so excited to live and work in Augusta, and she looks forward to getting to know more about her new home and its amazing people. When she's not working, Blayne enjoys running, watching the History Channel, brushing up on her karaoke skills and cheering for Duke basketball and OU football.
