Miranda Parnell joined News 12 in June 2014. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish.
She joins News 12 after working as a freelance agent for ESPN, as well as completing several internships at local stations in her hometown of Columbia, S.C.
While at USC, Miranda acted as the men's soccer team halftime emcee, wrote for The Daily Gamecock newspaper and was the field reporter for ESPNU's Campus Connection. She also hosted and produced her own weekly radio show for four years. During her sophomore year, Miranda was able to see how news operates from coast to coast when she participated in an exchange program that allowed her to attend California State University Northridge for a year.
Miranda has been broadcasting ever since she was a morning anchor on the "Dolphin News Show" at her elementary school. When she's not hunting down a story, she likes swimming, watching movies and reading.
Miranda is excited to be at News 12 and would love to know what stories you may have. Feel free to contact her with tips, comments or concerns on Facebook or Twitter- or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
