Karen graduated in July 2012 from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in professional writing.

At a young age, Karen had a strong passion for reading and writing and quickly decided she wanted to grow up to work in journalism. Because her father was serving in the Navy, she moved 13 times around the country and loved getting involved with the community every place she lived.

Karen graduated in July 2012 from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in professional writing. She became the first writer/reporter for the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange in summer of 2010 and went on to intern at the number one news station in Atlanta, WSB-TV, for the entire year of 2011. From there, she chose to diversify by working in the newsroom at WGCL/CBS Atlanta while also working as the writer/social media intern for The Clean Air Campaign during the spring of 2012.

After graduating, Karen worked as the writer/online content producer for Youth Today and the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange, where she covered juvenile justice and child welfare news.

In her spare time, Karen loves to read and catch up on her favorite TV
shows.

She'd love to hear from you! Email her at karen.edwards@wrdw.com or follow her on Twitter @KarenWRDW.
