Williston's Bush picked up by Saints

Saturday, September 1, 2012

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Saints have claimed safety Rafael Bush off waivers from the Denver Broncos and waived safety Jonathon Amaya.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Bush spent the second half of last season with Denver, appearing in six games and making three tackles, all on special teams.

Bush joined the NFL as an undrafted rookie with Atlanta in 2010 and spent most of that season on the practice squad before moving to the active roster for one regular season game and a playoff game.

Amaya is a third-year safety whom New Orleans acquired last season from Miami in a trade that sent running back Reggie Bush to the Dolphins.

Amaya appeared in all 16 regular season games for New Orleans last season on both special teams and as a backup.
