PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The top six teams in the nation held their spots in the Sports Network top-25 poll as North Dakota State remained number one with a 5-0 record. Sam Houston State remained at number two with only eight more points than third-ranked Towson. Northern Iowa, Eastern Illinois and Eastern Washington were fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, for the second-straight week.
Georgia Southern moved to 22nd in this week’s poll with SoCon foe Samford checking in at 23rd this week as one of the four previously unranked teams to join the list. Youngstown State went to 18th after three weeks out of the poll and James Madison re-entering the rankings at 21st. Jacksonville State makes its first 2013 appearance in the Sports Network poll this week at 24th.
In its first year transitioning to FBS, the Eagles are being considered for weekly rankings and honors from the Sports Network, but are not eligible to be ranked in the weekly national coaches poll.
