CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris was linked to several job openings the past month, including the vacancy in his home state at Texas Tech.
Morris says he's happy to remain with the 14th-ranked Tigers and prepare his players to face No. 5 LSU at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl later this month.
Morris is finishing his second season at Clemson, his offense posting a second straight record-breaking year in points and yards gained. The success made Morris a natural for consideration for athletic directors seeking new head coaches and Texas Tech's Kirby Hocutt flew to the state last week to meet with Morris.
The 44-year-old Morris says the fit wasn't right and he won't jump at any chance simply to land a head coaching job in college.
