The Braves today placed LF Martin Prado on the 15-day disabled list with a staph infection in his right calf.
Prado underwent a procedure in Atlanta today performed by Dr. Gary Lourie to clean out the infection...The infection was discovered on Tuesday (6/7) in Florida and he was cleared to play.
That evening Prado suffered an upper left calf contusion when he was hit with a thrown ball while stealing second base in the ninth inning.
Prado did not play in Wednesday’s or Thursday’s game due to a sore left knee...The DL move is retroactive to Wednesday (6/8).
