CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson coach Tommy Bowden says his Tigers
will face a more difficult challenge when they take on Florida
State this Monday night.

Bowden says both teams are coming off frustrating seasons and
that makes the Seminoles' motivation for success just as strong as
the Tigers'.

Florida State went 7-and-6 a year ago.

The Tigers were 8-and-5. However, they lost four of their final
five years.

The game marks the ninth Bowden Bowl matchup between father,
Bobby, and son Tommy. Tommy Bowden says he has learned to better
concentrate on the game at hand through the years and --not-- so
much on the family ties.

Tommy Bowden says the important thing is for his club to start
strongly, not-- so much on defeating his father.

The Seminoles have won five of the eight previous father son
matchups. But Clemson has won three of the past four in the series.
