Thrashers sign Chelios
The Atlanta Thrashers have signed 48-year-old defenseman Chris Chelios, a three-time Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's top defenseman, who has spent the season with the AHL Chicago Wolves.

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Thrashers have signed 48-year-old
defenseman Chris Chelios, a three-time Norris Trophy winner as the
NHL's top defenseman, who has spent the season with the AHL Chicago
Wolves.
Chelios, who ranks second in the AHL this season with a plus-35
rating, is expected to remain with the Wolves for now.
Chelios was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1981. He has
participated in 11 NHL All-Star games and has registered 185 goals
and 763 assists in 1,644 NHL games.
