MCCORMICK, S.C. – Former Augusta State All-American Emmett Turner carded his third Hooters Tour runner up finish Sunday afternoon in the Savannah Lakes Resort Classic at Monticello Golf Club.
A two-time Jaguar All-American in 2003 and 2005, Turner tallied a five-under 67 to finish a shot back of Michael Connell. A five-time winner on the Hooters Tour, Connell fired an eight-under 64 to finish at 17-under 271, one shot ahead of Turner.
Defending champion Kris Blanks fired a final round 68 and finished all alone in third place at fifteen-under par 273. Former ASU All-American Scott Jamieson, who was a shot off the lead after a five-under 67 in the first round, tied for 22nd at seven-under 271.
Connell collected $33,566 for his 5th career victory, while Turner earned $16,703 for his third career runnerup finish. The 2006 Hooters Tour Rookie Of The Year, Turner moved up to fourth on the Hooters Tour money list with $40,412.08 in six events. He has made the cut in all six tournaments, and posted three top 10’s, four top-20’s and five finishes of 22nd or better.
