Clemson 68, Air Force 67

NEW YORK (AP) -- KC Rivers scored 19 points as Clemson held on to beat Air Force 68-to-67 in the NIT semifinals Tuesday night.

The Tigers will play for the championship Thursday night against West Virginia at Madison Square Garden. Their chief rival, South Carolina, has won the last two NIT titles.

Trevor Booker added 13 points for Clemson, which reaches the NIT final for only the second time. The Tigers lost to California in 1999.

Clemson is now 25-and-10, tying the 1986-1987 Tigers for the most victories in a season.

Nick Welch scored 16 points and Matt McCraw added 15 for Air Force, who ends the season 26-and-9.
