Eagles get Spikes

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired Pro Bowl linebacker and former Washington County standout, Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb from the Buffalo Bills for defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a conditional pick in next year's NFL draft.

Spikes was slow recovering last year from a torn right Achilles' tendon suffered in Week Three of the 2005 season. The nine-year veteran was scheduled to make $9.5 million over the final two seasons of his contract.

A former first-round pick, Spikes played his first five seasons with Cincinnati.

Holcomb has made 21 starts over an eleven-year career. He joins AJ Feeley on the quarterback depth chart behind Donovan McNabb.
