CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson's Kyle Stanley is among three finalists for one of college golf's top awards.
The final three were named Thursday for the Ben Hogan Award, which will be given out May 22 in Fort Worth, Texas. Stanley leads Clemson with a 71.58 stroke average and has had six top-10 finishes this fall. He won the Southern Amateur last July in Orlando, Fla., and, with the Tigers, the Carpet Classic in Dalton, Ga., this past September.
The other finalists are last year's winner Rickie Fowler of Oklahoma State and Jorge Capillo of Indiana.
Current PGA Tour player D.J. Trahan is the only other Clemson golfer to win the Hogan Award, gaining the honor in 2002.
