Friday, March 20, 2009. (AP) -- South Carolina defensive lineman Ladi Ajiboye has been charged with marijuana possession after Richland County Sheriff's investigators say he was took part in a drug deal.
The State of Columbia reports Ajiboye's arrest occurred in February, but the charge was not filed until Friday. A call by The Associated Press to sheriff's spokesman Lt. Chris Cowan was not immediately returned.
Ajiboye has not taken part in South Carolina's spring practices. Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said Tuesday that Ajiboye was suspended indefinitely, but did not give a reason.
Ajiboye, a sophomore from Riverdale, Ga., has started 22 games.
