Georgia baseball drops from #1, stays in top 5

ATHENS-----The Georgia baseball team remained ranked in the top five
in three polls released Monday.

The Bulldogs are ranked third in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll and
the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association of America Poll
and fourth by Collegiate Baseball. The Diamond Dogs, ranked No. 1
last week by Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA, went 3-2 with two
wins against Le Moyne and one win at Alabama.

Five teams—Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt
—are tied with a 1-2 record in the SEC East after the opening weekend
of conference play while Florida is one game behind.

Georgia (15-2, 1-2 SEC) travels to Georgia State for a 6 p.m. game on
Wednesday before the first SEC home series against Mississippi State
beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
