Monday, November 3, 2008. (AP) -- Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson says senior offensive tackle Andrew Gardner is considering season-ending shoulder surgery.
Gardner was listed as questionable last week with a sore shoulder but was able to make his 48th consecutive start in Georgia Tech's 31-28 win over Florida State.
Gardner has started every game of his career. But that streakcould end this week. The left tackle is a two-time pick this season as Atlantic Coast Conference lineman of the week.
Georgia Tech spokesman Dean Buchan said Gardner is considering how the injury could affect his hopes for playing in the NFL.
The Yellow Jackets' starting right tackle, David Brown, missed the Florida State game with a back injury.
Meanwhile, quarterback Josh Nesbitt was held out of Monday's light practice after suffering an ankle injury in the third quarter of the win over Florida State.
