CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson offensive guard Barry Humphries
will be out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee. The school says Humphries tore his ACL in Thursday's practice. The junior suffered a partial ACL tear in the season opener against Alabama, then sat out the next five games before playing in 23 snaps last week against Georgia Tech.
Humphries started seven games at center or guard in 2007. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says he hopes David Smith can start in the Tigers next game Nov. 1 at Boston College. Smith has missed the past three games with a high ankle sprain.
