Friday, October 17, 2008. (AP) -- Clemson is facing several firsts this weekend against Georgia Tech. So is new Tigers coach Dabo Swinney.
Swinney was named the team's interim coach after Tommy Bowden stepped down Monday. Swinney said one of his biggest concerns is making it down the hill without falling during the Tigers' traditional game day field entrance.
Clemson (3-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) will be starting freshman quarterback Willy Korn instead of longtime starter Cullen Harper. And the Tigers are without injured backfield star C.J. Spiller, who pulled a hamstring in a loss to Wake Forest on Oct. 9.
Georgia Tech (5-1, 2-1) has won three of its past four games with the Tigers. The Yellow Jackets look to improve on their play from a week ago when they squeaked by Championship Subdivision opponent Gardner-Webb, 10-7.
