COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson running back C.J. Spiller won't
play against Georgia Tech because of a pulled hamstring, while
demoted quarterback Cullen Harper says he needs surgery for a
fracture in his left shoulder.
Spiller injured himself in the opening half of the Tigers' 12-7
loss at Wake Forest and has been kept out of workouts this week.
Athletic spokesman Tim Bourret says Spiller could be ready by the
Tigers' Nov. 1 game at Boston College.
Harper, benched by former coach Tommy Bowden last week, said
after practice Thursday he doesn't know when he will have surgery,
and that he will be available for Saturday.
Two other Tigers injured at Wake Forest are listed as probable
for Saturday. Receiver Tyler Grisham injured his ankle and guard
Mason Cloy left with a knee injury.
