COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina is likely without top
receiver Kenny McKinley again this week against Wofford. The Gamecocks' all-Southeastern Conference wideout has not played since the first half against Vanderbilt on Sept. 4. South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says McKinley is dealing with an injury to his right hamstring and is not sure when he might return.
The Gamecocks play another nonconference contest against
Alabama-Birmingham on Sept. 27 before getting into the bulk of
their SEC schedule.
South Carolina took on Wofford in 2006 and needed a last-second
turnover from the Terriers to escape with a 27-20 victory. Gamecock
linebacker Dakota Walker knocked the Terriers' pitch attempt into
the air with 29 seconds left and teammate Cody Wells caught it to
preserve the win.
