COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier has
been told that some of his players may have been involved in a
fight on campus.
Athletic spokesman Steve Fink said the coach was told of an
incident at the Russell House around lunchtime Thursday. The
Gamecocks were scheduled to practice at 4 p.m. Fink did not have
details of what occurred or who was involved.
School spokesman Russ McKinney did not immediately return a call
to The Associated Press. He told The (Columbia) State that campus
police were investigating and that no one had been charged. McKinney says some non-students came into the Russell House area and sparked the incident. The Gamecocks host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday.
