MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- An agent for Atlanta Hawks forward Josh
Smith says the restricted free agent is considering a contract
offer from the Memphis Grizzlies. Smith, a 6-9, 235-pound forward, was a first-round draft pick for Atlanta out of high school in 2004.
Wallace Prather, Smith's agent, said Friday his client was
considering an offer from Memphis but declined details. "We're in the process of getting it all signed and everything, and that's all I can say right now," Prather said.
If Smith accepts the offer, the Hawks will have seven days to
match it. The Grizzlies and the Hawks declined comment. Smith averaged 17.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in helping the Hawks make the playoffs last season.
