Panther WR Smith Suspended

Saturday, August 2, 2008 (AP) -- The Carolina Panthers have suspended receiver Steve Smith two games for his involvement in a training camp fight with cornerback Ken Lucas.

Smith will participate in preseason games and be allowed to practice with the team beginning Monday.

Lucas left the practice field at Wofford College yesterday with ice over his left eye. Panthers coach John Fox said Lucas suffered a broken nose in the fracas, which occurred during yesterday's morning practice. Lucas did not practice today at Fan Fest and is listed as day to
day.
