ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Longtime Georgia play-by-play announcer Larry
Munson is nearly recovered from brain surgery and looking forward
to his 43rd season in the radio booth.

The 85-year-old Munson underwent surgery April 4 to remove blood
clots from his brain. "Currently, Larry is in his final weeks of rehabilitation and expects to make a full recovery," the Munson family said in a statement Friday. "Larry has every intention of calling the
Georgia home games this season and is ready for the football season
to begin."

Georgia opens its season at home against Georgia Southern on
Aug. 30.
