Thursday, July 24, 2008 (AP) -- Clemson quarterback Cullen Harper has gone from wondering how long he'd play to the ACC's preseason player of the year.
Harper faced enormous pressure in 2007 as a first-time starter who fans were uncertain of. By the end, there were no doubts about Harper, who set 21 school records, including the mark for most touchdowns in a season with 27. Harper led the ACC in passing efficiency, throwing only six interceptions.
Harper helped Clemson to its first nine-win season since 2003. Now, he's the unquestioned leader of an offense many think will win the conference and could challenge for a national championship.
