Monday, July 21, 2008 (AP) -- Clemson is the preseason favorite in the Atlantic Coast Conference this year. Georgia Tech, under new coach Paul Johnson, was chosen to finish fourth in the ACC's Coastal Division.
The Tigers were selected as the ACC favorite today. It's the first time Clemson has been the league's preseason choice since 1991, the year before Florida State entered the league and began to dominate preseason selections.
Wake Forest was picked second in the Atlantic Division behind Clemson, with Florida State third. Following were Boston College, Maryland and North Carolina State.
Defending league champion Virginia Tech finished ahead of North Carolina in voting in the Coastal Division. Miami was third, followed by Georgia Tech, Virginia and Duke.
