ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia Southern lost scholarships in football
and men's golf today and Georgia State's men's basketball team was
warned that it could face sanctions next year.

The sanctions and results came in the NCAA's Academic Progress
Report. Among state schools, Kennesaw State's men's track team and
Augusta State's men's golf team also lost scholarships after
falling below the NCAA standards for academic progress.

Mercer lost one men's basketball scholarship. Georgia and Georgia Tech exceeded the standards in every sport. The APR is a point system based on scholarship athletes' remaining eligible and in school. The NCAA has established a score of 925 (out of 1000) as acceptable for each sport.
