CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carolina Panthers receiver Dwayne Jarrett
has been arrested and charged with driving while impaired. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office said Jarrett was pulled over in Charlotte at 3 a.m. Tuesday. He was released on $1,000 bond.
The team called what happened "unacceptable" and said the
Panthers were still gathering information. Jarrett was Carolina's second-round pick last year, but struggled as a rookie. He failed to crack the starting lineup and was held to six catches for 73 yards and no touchdowns. The former Southern California star was participating in the
Panthers' offseason conditioning program.
