Clemson RB To Miss Senior Season

Saturday March 8, 2008
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden says
running back Ray Ray McElrathbey will not play for the Tigers in
2008. McElrathbey gained national attention two years ago for
taking custody of his young brother after their parents were unable
to care for him. Bowden says today that McElrathbey will graduate from Clemson in August.

McElrathbey missed all last season after an injury in preseason
practice. McElrathbey has not said what will do in the future. The Atlanta native took custody of his then 11-year-old brother
Fahmarr in 2006 and received national attention and accolades,
including the Keith Jackson Award of Excellence on the ESPN College
Football All-American Show.
