ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says
he hasn't taken any action against offensive lineman Kevin Young because he may have been defending himself before he was arrested.
The (Orangeburg) Times and Democrat reports Spurrier told a Gamecock Club meeting Monday night that someone punched Young first
in a fight at a nightclub area near campus early Sunday.
Spurrier says the 20-year-old redshirt freshman guard and other itnesses have told him Young was then being held down by others and may have been punched by a police officer.
Spurrier says he will wait for all the facts to come out before deciding if Young is punished.
Columbia police charged Young with fighting and resisting arrest.
