CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson guard Cliff Hammonds has broken his
wrist on his non-shooting hand and is questionable for Thursday
night's game at Georgia Tech.
X-rays taken today show Hammonds right wrist was broken when he
fell on it while blocking a shot in the second half of the Tigers
73-70 win over Maryland yesterday. He played the rest of the game
with the injury.
Coach Oliver Purnell says Hammonds will get treatment for the
wrist tomorrow, then go to practice. If he can tolerate the pain
and play effectively, Purnell says the senior will see action
against the Yellow Jackets.
Hammonds is second on the team at nearly 12 points a game. He
also averages four rebounds and nearly four assists a contest.
