SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Charles Warren, a former Clemson Tiger, and Kevin Sutherland share the clubhouse lead in the first round of the PGA's FBR Open in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Warren and Sutherland opened with 6-under-par 65s to go one shot ahead of Brian Gay and Camilo Villegas. Warren played a bogey-free round, and Sutherland birdied his final two holes to grab a piece of the lead.
Phil Mickelson was in the mix at 3-under.
Augusta native, Charles Howell III finished 4 under with a first round 67.
There were 24 players still on the course when play was halted by darkness. Nick O'Hern was at minus-5 through 14 holes.
