ATLANTA, Ga.---People have been lining up since Wednesday at some sporting goods stores to await the new Nike Air Jordans that go on sale Friday.
Walter's Clothing Store in Atlanta is one of those places.
This is the 23d edition of Michael Jordan shoes. He wore jersey number 23 before he retired in 2003.
The opening day gimmick is that only 23 pairs will be sold in 23 stores nationwide, including the one in Atlanta.
The shoes cost $230 a pair.
Those lined up outside Walter's Clothing include 20-something Jordan fans and middle aged folks too. One is a 45-year-old financial analyst from Stone Mountain, who says he has a collection of 75 pairs of sports sneakers.
