COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Dave Odom says he isn't giving up on this season -- or his tenure as Gamecocks coach.
Odom has plenty of critics these days, as South Carolina is 8-6 with a loss Saturday night against North Carolina-Asheville.
The Gamecocks open Southeastern Conference play tomorrow at Number 13 Vanderbilt and host eighth-ranked Tennessee on Saturday.
Odom says he has given his team a revamped plan for success by breaking down the simplest aspects of the game, such as if an opponent misses a field goal and South Carolina rebounds.
Odom says his team has responded with some excellent and intense
workouts.
